LUXURY VINYL TILES

Luxury vinyl is a high-quality flooring, installed as a tile or plank that resembles expensive flooring materials, such as wood or stone, but is a lower maintenance option to these natural materials.

LVT is good for high traffic areas like hallways and open plan spaces such as kitchen-diners or wet spaces like bathrooms as it is slip resistant.   It is softer underfoot than real stone and can be paired with the right underfloor heating.

LVT is semi rigid and thicker than standard vinyl. It is constructed from layers - a backing, a core layer for stability, the graphic layer - high resolution imaging, with timber grain or stone-like markings and topped with a wear layer.  The wear layer is a protective clear polyurethane coating which is sometimes supported with ceramic bead, silica bead or aluminium oxide. There are a broad range of wear layers and the thicker it is the more hard-wearing the product will be.

Wood-effect timber features the different species, colours, and grain patterns which look very similar to the real thing.  There is a good selection of plank sizes and laying patterns, such as chevrons and herringbone.

Stone-effect LVT comes in an array of colours and styles, from dark grey through to creams.

There are also brightly coloured options and bold patterns, which resemble a tiled floor, and are becoming popular as a design statement and an injection of style.

Installation

Luxury vinyl flooring should be laid on a clean, flat, and smooth surface, so we will advise you on the required sub-floor preparation which, if required, will be an integral part of the installation.  The quality of the sub floor will directly impact the look and lifespan of your vinyl flooring.

Any existing flooring will need to be removed and if the subfloor is uneven this will need to be rectified, for example, ply and prime over timber floors, or a self-levelling screed on a concrete subfloor. The subfloor will then need to be clean and dry before the LVT tiles or planks are installed.

There are several different installation methods. Floated either as a loose lay or click vinyl or glue down installation.
